Crystal Paris is sophomore BFA Fashion Design major at SCAD Atlanta. After having a child at 19 years old, battling homelessness and not knowing which direction she wanted to take her life, she began looking to her strongest passion for solace, desiring to create and understand fashion. Crystal Paris would not become a statistic but rather a survivor, thus she began her first business at the age of 22 called Crystal Paris Designs LLC a brand created to empower others through Fashion and Art. Crystal has a list of personal accolades that have been added to her resume and portfolio, in the interim, making her a great asset to the student profile of SCAD. Just recently she represented SCAD Atlanta in New York City as a semifinalist for this year's National Retail Federation Next Generation Scholarship. Crystal also attended Art Basel 2016 where she worked very closely with Daniel Lisome London based Artist and Designer on his exhibit at SCAD at Miami “Theater of Self”. Crystal’s hand painted mask and designer ‘CP ICE’ were also published in the Daniel Lismore book “Be Yourself Everyone is Already Taken” published early this year. In 2015 Crystal won Macy’s Fashion Advance competition for her creative Kente Collection inspired by the rich culture of African American culture. In 2014 Crystal won first place as the design war winner for her Macaron Queen dress designed on behalf of the newly renovated Fashion Cafe in Simon Mall Lenox Square in Atlanta Georgia. During Crystal’s spare time she enjoys traveling the world, learning about different cultures, bike rides with her son, and designing one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art. As an artist Crystal Paris inspires to help young girls around the world to dream big; never giving up on their dreams no matter what, to believe in themselves and to never take NO for an answer!
